About 400 properties with unpaid taxes were up for grabs at the Bossier Parish Courthouse today.
The sheriff's department held its annual tax sale, allowing people to bid on properties with delinquent taxes.
Property owners who owe taxes have a three year period in which to settle those debts before losing their property.
However, the owner will still owe interest to anyone that bid on their property and won during today's sale.
The Bossier Sheriff's Department says it's a great way to get tax money back into the parish.
"It helps the parish. It goes ahead and gives the parish the opportunity to give moeny to the agencies around the parish and it takes the burden of unpaid taxes," says Bossier Sheriff's Department Capt. David Miller.
If you owe property taxes in Bossier Parish, you'll have to make a trip to the courthouse to settle those debts.
