The Bossier Parish School system is reporting record growth, surpassing last year's student count by more than 400.
“We are very excited about the continued growth we are experiencing in Bossier Parish and would like to attribute our exemplary school system as a major factor in this unprecedented growth,” said D.C. Machen, Jr., Superintendent of Bossier Schools. The official student count, taken September 5, 2012, shows a total enrollment of 21,655. That marks an increase of 429 students over last year’s enrollment on this date.
Bossier Schools are also a step closer to building new schools and
making additions and improvements to others following April's Bond Election.
A meeting is planned for Thursday at 2p.m. at the Central Office to receive bids and award the sale of the first cycle of $40 million in bonds to fund construction.
