Quick action by Bossier City firefighters Sunday morning prevented a house fire from being much worse than it could have been.

They responded a little before 10am to a blaze in the 5400 block of Hackney Circle. The first crews on the scene found heavy smoke pouring from the home.

Authorities believe the fire originated in or near the home's laundry room, then spread to the attic.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in about five minutes.  Luckily nobody was home at the time and nobody was hurt.
