Robert McCoy Jr., the suspect in a triple murder in Bossier City earlier this week, was captured Friday night.

Bossier City police have scheduled a news conference for Saturday afternoon to provide details. They would not disclose details of the capture Friday night.

A source close to the investigation said McCoy,34, was arrested without incident in the "upper Midwest," where he had been hitching rides with truck drivers.

McCoy's family said he was captured in Idaho.

McCoy faces charges he shot and killed his estranged wife's parents and teenage son Monday night in their Bossier City apartment. He was in the middle of a divorce and had been accused by his estranged wife of stalking and terrorizing her.

McCoy's sister expressed relief he had been captured without resistance or injury to anyone.

Authorities now will begin the process of returning McCoy to Bossier Parish -- either by him waiving extradition or through a court order.
