The Bossier Parish School Board has purchased land for the new Technology and Advanced Learning School.

It is being built as part of the $210 million bond referendum approved by voters last spring.

The school will be located at 1841 Swan Lake Road, north of I-220, which is across from W.T. Lewis Elementary School.

Construction of the 110,000 square foot facility is expected to begin after the first of the year. It is one of five major projects the district is working on.

Work is also set to start in the summer of 2013 at W.T. Lewis Elementary. The school is being expanded and 12 new classrooms will be built. Renovations will also be made to Airline High School.

School officials have also purchased land in the Tuscany Subdivision in Haughton  for a new middle school. And options for land are also in place for the new Kingston Elementary on Kingston Road.
