Bowie County authorities searching for prison escapee

The search is on for a prisoner who escaped from the Bowie County Jail while still in handcuffs.
According to authorities, cameras caught 26-year-old Demontrius Witcher running from the Bi-State Justice Center.
In the images released his hands are cuffed and behind his back.
Authorities tell KTBS 3 News that a probation officer chased him, but Witcher disappeared in downtown Texarkana, Texas area.
Deputieis say that Witcher, on probation for felony fraud, had reported to authorities because he had an active probation violation warrant.
He had been taken into custody at the jail's probation office when he escaped.
He now is facing a new charge of felony escape.
