A 74-year-old woman and her brother pleaded not guilty in Nashville, Ark., today to charges they hired a hitman to kill his estranged wife at the discount store where she worked.
The couple have been named as "persons of interest" in the murder of the woman's husband in Texarkana 35 years ago. No charges have been filed in that case.
JoAnn Hicks of Ogden and Wyouman David Camp, 63, of Stamps entered pleas in Howard County Circuit Court to charges of being accomplices to first-degree murder in the death of Robin Camp.
Camp, 42, was working at the Nashville Family Dollar store when she was shot to death on May 26.
Hicks and Camp are accused of hiring Harry Surber, 37, of Ashdown to kill Robin Camp in exchange for $5,000 and a pickup.
Circuit Judge Charles Yeargan set a pretrial hearing date for Nov. 5 and a trial date for Dec. 2.
Hicks' husband, Herbert, was shot to death on the porch of his home in Texarkana in 1973.
