Busy Bossier bridge to be replaced
Residents off one road just outside Bossier City may soon see detour signs. Dogwood Road may be closed while a bridge is replaced later in 2013. Police Juror Glen Benton expects the closure will last up to one year, leaving dozens of residents to find another way home. The project will be paid for by the state.
"It's the statewide bridge replacement program," Benton said. "Every year the state looks at bridges that are in need of being replaced."
Benton says the engineering details are being worked out. After that, the construction biding should begin later in the coming summer. Benton said a likely detour for those along Dogwood Road will be Bellevue Road.
