Shreveport, La. -

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and State Farm agent Ted Roberts will host a safe driving program for young drivers Saturday, September 15, at Sheriff’s Safety Town. The program will focus on the dangers of distracted and impaired driving.
The program is open to all licensed drivers between the ages of 16 and 21. Two sessions will be offered: 9 am – 10:30 am and 11 am – 12:30 pm. Each session is limited to 15 participants, so pre-registration is required.
To register, contact Sheriff’s Safety Town at 698-7233. Safety Town is located at 8910 Jewella Avenue.
Guests not participating in the driving program can enjoy an antique car display, have their insurance questions answered, or receive safe driving information and give-away items courtesy of Roberts and his staff.

According to State Farm representative Jamie Douglas, Bossier City is hosting a similar event Saturday at Airline High School. The event will be held from 2pm to 6pm.
Douglas says everyone is invited and there is free food and lots of things for the kids to do.
