Caddo Parish District Attorney Charles R. Scott Wednesday released a list of notable convictions achieved by his office during 2012.

The message is this. The men and women of the District Attorney’s office work hard to make Caddo Parish a safer place,” Scott said. “Also, we want to thank the men and women of the Shreveport Police Department, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and the local crime lab.”

Convictions of note in 2012 include:

? Tina Marie Vanmoerkerque (d.o.b. 6-21-66) entered a guilty plea to second degree murder in January, 2012 rather than face a jury trial for her part in the murder-for-hire shooting death of Ernest Luttrell. Ernest Luttrell was found dead from gunshot wounds in his home in the 12200 block of Greenwood-Springridge Rd., Keithville, in July, 2010.
? Richard A. “Rick” Seaton Jr. (d.o.b. 9-23-67) was convicted in January, 2012, of forcible rape and abuse of office following a bench trial before Judge Ramona Emanuel. Seaton was sentenced to 15 years on the rape charge and three years for abuse of office, with the sentences to be served concurrently. Seaton, who was Shreveport’s Assistant Chief Administrative Officer at the time of the offense in December, 2010, was convicted for forcing an out-of-town female visitor to the Independence Bowl to have sex with him in a City Hall office.
? Willie B. Evans (d.o.b. 11-3-53) was found guilty by a Caddo Parish jury in January, 2012 of aggravated rape for a 2010 sexual assault at 1500 Kings Hwy. Evans was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor.
? Robert Glen Coleman (d.o.b. 7-5-69) was found guilty of first degree murder by a Caddo Parish jury in February, 2012. Coleman received the death penalty following a unanimous recommendation from the jury. This was the second death penalty conviction for Coleman. He had previously been found guilty in 2005 of first degree murder and received the death penalty for the 2003 death of retired minister Julian Brandon at a residence in the 5300 block of Primitive Baptist Church Rd. The state Supreme Court ordered a new trial in 2008.
? Grady Earl Thornton (d.o.b. 8-9-89) was convicted by a Caddo Parish jury of second degree murder in February, 2012 for the June, 2008 death of three-month-old Terrell Thornton. Thornton was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor.
? Dion Laonadre Lewis (d.o.b. 4-12-78) was found guilty by a Caddo Parish jury of second degree murder in April, 2012 and sentenced to life in prison at hard labor. Lewis was convicted for the August, 2009 shooting death of Kevin Earl Edwards during a home invasion robbery at a home in the 300 block of Mayfair.
? Joshua R. Parker (d.o.b. 6-2-89) was found guilty by a Caddo Parish jury in May, 2012 of second degree murder for the June, 2009 shooting death of Phillip Livigni in the 9900 block of Smitherman. Parker was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
? Samuel Lee Jordan (d.o.b. 5-30-87) was convicted by a Caddo Parish jury in July, 2012 of first degree murder for the December, 2008 death of eight-week-old Lyrica Kennedy. Jordan was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
? Eddie L. Jackson (d.o.b. 8-10-70) was found guilty by a Caddo Parish jury in August, 2012 of second degree kidnapping and simple arson in a case stemming from the disappearance of Tracy Winslow, who has been missing since January, 2011. Jackson received 40 years in prison on the kidnapping charge and 10 years for simple arson. The sentences were ordered served concurrently.
? Jasmond Osborne (d.o.b. 8-7-86) entered a guilty plea in lieu of a jury trial in October, 2012 to a charge of attempted first degree murder. Osborne pled guilty to shooting a member of the Shreveport Police Department’s Special Response Team when the team enforced a search warrant at a room in the 4900 block of Greenwood Rd. The officer’s body armor is credited with saving his life. Osborne was sentenced to 30 years in prison at hard labor.
? Christopher Brian Cope (d.o.b. 10-6-86) was found guilty in October, 2012 of first degree murder for the 2010 shooting death of Shreveport Police Department Sgt. Timothy Prunty. Prunty was killed as he stood outside his car at a convenience store in the 3300 block of Bert Kouns. Cope was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
? Demarcus Cartez Jones (d.o.b. 5-5-72) was convicted by a Caddo Parish jury of second degree murder in November, 2012 for the July, 2008 shooting death of Lonzell Armstrong in the 1900 block of David Raines Rd. Jones was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor.
? Everett Charles Wills Jr. (d.o.b. 5-5-74) was found guilty by a Caddo Parish jury in December, 2012 of second degree murder for the April, 2011 shooting death of Carlos Guster in the 3100 block of Lillian St. Wills was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
? Patrick Price Williams (d.o.b. 12-11-67) entered a guilty plea in December, 2012 to nine counts of molestation of a juvenile. Williams was sentenced to a total of 150 years in prison at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence when Judge Scott Crichton ordered the sentences on all nine counts to be served consecutively. Williams’ wife, Jacqueline Renea Williams (d.o.b. 11-26-64), entered guilty pleas to four counts of molestation of a juvenile in December, 2012 and was ordered to serve 10 years in prison at hard labor.
