Candlelight vigil for murder victim
Remembering Chauncey Broadway
Family and friends gather to remember a young man from Shreveport whose life was ended too soon.
Chauncey Broadway, 18, was killed early Saturday morning when someone opened fire outside a home on Burlingame Boulevard in Shreveport.
Ethel Carroll says her grandson was intelligent, well behaved, and stayed out of trouble.
"These are his friends," Carroll says of the crowd. "These are our friends. Chauncey was loved very much by everybody."
She does not know who would do this to him or why.
"I think this is just a senseless killing. He didn't have to die at 18, and my heart is sad."
Anyone with information on the weekend shooting should call Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373.
