Cedar Grove Home Damaged in Early Morning Fire

The Shreveport Fire Department is working an early morning house fire in the 7900 block of Wyngate Boulevard.

Fire crews got the call just after 1:30 and found heavy smoke and flames visible from the rear of the home.

Fire crews say a large shed was on fire close to the rear of the home.

The fire had spread to a utility room in the back of the house and into the attic space.

Firefighters had to work safely around two “live” power lines that were down due to the fire.

Two adults and three children were inside at the time of the blaze and all escaped without injury.

The home suffered heavy fire damage to the utility room and the attic space above it but the remainder of the home was spared from any fire damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
