Several elected officials take office Monday, including Caddo's new coroner, Dr. Todd Thoma.

Thoma will be sworn in at noon, and will immediately reinstate Forensic Nurse Examiners. Dr. Marius McFarland got rid of the nurses during his time in office.

Thoma also plans to push for a lab in Shreveport where autopsies will be done, to save the city on transportation and other expenses that are racked up under the current system of sending bodies to Little Rock for autopsy.
