Child killed, man injured, in rollover crash

A child is killed, and a man injured, after a single vehicle crash in Grant Parish.
It happened on Highway 492, near Highway 8 in Colfax, LA just before noon today.
State Police say 54-year-old Michael W. Sykes' Chevrolet pick-up lost control and left the side of the roadway.
The truck hit two private driveways along the road, before overturning.
Officials say 12-year-old Michael T. Sykes was a passenger in the pick-up and was not wearing his seat belt.
He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The elder Sykes was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
