The summer's heat is definitely here. What better time to come to Chimp Haven's Chimpanzee Discovery Day and vacation at the beach along with the chimpanzees. Visitors will be able to view the chimpanzees across a water filled moat from Chimp Haven's new "beach!" Guests will get to lounge in a beach chair under an umbrella and view the chimpanzees in a natural setting as they forage for fruits, vegetables, and leaves. Children will enjoy making sand castles and splashing in the kiddie pool. Guests will enjoy cooling off with popsicles while the chimpanzees slurp frozen "apesicles." The opportunity may also arise for spectators to catch a glimpse of the Haven's newest addition, Valentina Rose, who is four months old.
This is the last Discovery Day of the spring season, so don't miss it! Plan to arrive early for the best opportunity to view the chimpanzees since they retreat to the forest in the heat of the day. Bring a hat and comfortable shoes - and join the chimpanzees at the beach!
