The Arklatex largest single night fundraising event kicked off tonight. The Shreveport Regional Arts Council's Christmas in the Sky has the area buzzing, more than 2,000 people are expected to attend. It's the council's most important and profitable fundraisers.

"We're hoping to raise about a half a million dollars tonight to last for two years and help support some of the important programs that we do, like the Art Break Festival," Council executive director Pam Atchison said.
