Santa is expected to hand out nearly 400 toys at this year’s Christmas on Caddo 2012. Event planners are in full swing, getting ready for the annual celebration. The festival is in its 18th year and is expected to draw nearly 10,000 people. Popularity for the holiday event has more than doubled since it first began. Christmas on Caddo President Committee Board member, Mary Dunn, has overseen the event for the last ten years. She says that popularity for the festival has grown so much, the park is nearing capacity. Over a dozen sponsors will help raise the nearly $12,000 needed to host this year’s celebration.
Holiday entertainment lineup includes the Dirt Honey Deluxe band, Casey Ann Boddie, and the newest event, Miss Christmas Caddo. The celebration will be held at the Earl Williamson Park in Oil City. Festivities start this Saturday at 3:30, with fireworks kicking off at 6:30.
