Residents of Caddo and Bossier parishes are being asked to join forces with police departments for the fourth annual October Night Out Against Crime and Drugs.

On Tuesday, October 2, from 6 to 9 p.m., residents in neighborhoods in Caddo and Bossier parishes are being asked to turn on their porch lights and spend the evening outside with family, friends, and city officials.

The event is held in collaboration with National Night Out, but is being held in October when the weather is cooler.

Officials say it is a great opportunity for people in neighborhoods to get better acquainted with each other.

For more information, you can call the Shreveport Police Department at 673-7000 or the Community Services Division of the Bossier City Police Department at 741-8351.
