One East Texas college is being recognized for having happy employees. The Chronicle of Higher Education placed Panola College on a list of "Great Colleges to Work for."

The faculty and staff were surveyed and asked to rank the institution based on 11 categories, which included Teaching Environment, Benefits, Security and Job Satisfaction. Panola College ranked high in almost all of the categories.

"If you don't have happy employees, you're not going to have happy students," said Panola College Human Resources Director, Mike Edens. "And that's our main goal, to serve our students."

"Panola College employees feel appreciated by our community and that does contribute heavily to our job satisfaction," added Panola College President, Dr. Gregory Powell. "I can't imagine working at a better place."

Because of its high ranking, Panola College was also listed on The Chronicle's "Honor Roll" as one of the top colleges in its size category. The school has 135 full time employees and 100 part time employees. For a detailed look at the survey and its results, visit chronicle.com.
