A computer glitch slowed the posting of Bossier Parish election returns Saturday night.

A computer tech from the secretary of state's office struggled to get the returns down to the computer in Baton Rouge.

Paper ballots had to be used at precincts in Plain Dealing and Haughton because of a problem with the ballots on electronic voting machines.

Bossier Clerk of Court Cindy Johnston said that for November's election, Bossier's returns will be on the clerk's website as well.

"If we do have some kind of problem transmitting to the secretary of state, then I have my website to back us up," Johnston said.

The official recount of Saturday's election returns will be conducted Tuesday morning.
