With the uncertainity of future gun laws, more East Texans are taking to the range to receive concealed handgun permits.

Paul Cothren has been a concealed handgun class instructor for the past six years and says right now permits are in high demand.

He says the last thing he wants is anyone hurting someone, but says having a concealed handgun license is a constitutional right.

"We've gone from having about 7 to 12 people interested per month, to having 60 people ready to take the course right now," said Cothern.

Classes are full in February. The next openings will be in March.
