Things were awfully quiet Monday in the 400 block of Shreveport's Egan Street.
Agents with the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Task Force conducted an undercover operation Friday and arrested more than a dozen people.
Authorities say the small block in the city's Highland neighborhood has a rather large reputation for drugs.
"We've received a lot of complaints from citizens about open air drug sales," said Lt. Carl Townley.
Townley says agents spent six hours posing as crack dealers. He says the operation was very successful.
"It got so bad, we actually had to shut down the operation for a few minutes so we could get the people transported and booked in," said Lt. Townley.
Nearly two dozen Caddo deputies and Shreveport officers participated in the operation.
Authorities say if you have concerns about illegal drug activity in your neighborhood, call them and they will investigate it.
