Dead body found in car in Opelousas

OPELOUSAS, La. -

Opelousas Police and the Acadiana Crime Lab are investigating a suspicious death after authorities found a body inside a car at the Interstate 49 North on-ramp at Harry Guilbeau Road in Opelousas.

According to The Daily World, authorities found the body of a man inside the car Monday morning. Though the car had been hit by another vehicle, police say the victim appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.

The deceased's identity is being withheld until his family is notified.
