Senator Joe Biden has been nominated by Democratic convention delegates to take the second spot on the party's 2008 presidential ticket. He'll join Senator Barack Obama, the first black American to hold a major party's presidential nomination.

Like Obama, Biden was also nominated by acclamation.

Poking fun at his reputation for being longwinded, Biden told delegates "Yes, Yes, I accept your nomination."
