It was a hot topic in 2012, and it seems it'll only get hotter in 2013. The fight for a dog park at Hamel Memorial Park continues. Shreveport Dog Park Alliance leader Cynthia Keith believes legal action may be the only way to have Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover sign off on the $280,000 grant for the park. She hints actions will be taken in the near future.

"Things will happen very soon. Probably more in a legal sort of way, which won't be coming from me," Keith said. "It will be the Shreveport Dog Park Alliance that is going to consider our legal options."
.
Keith says the money granted from the Red River Waterway Commission is going un-spent, but legislation was passed that keeps the money available solely for a Shreveport dog park.
