Speed is being considered a factor in an early morning wreck that sent two people to the hospital.

It happened just before 2:30 this morning near the intersection of East Kings Highway and Youree Drive.

Shreveport Police say the vehicle was speeding when it attempted to turn onto Youree Drive.  The driver lost control, hitting a nearby utility pole, causing the vehicle to roll over.

The male driver and female passenger were transported to LSU Medical Center with serious injuries. 

It is expected that it will take crews up to three hours clear the scene and repair the utility pole that was struck by the vehicle
