Two victims are recovering from gunshot wounds this morning while the unidentified gunman is on the run. The shooting happened early this morning around 2:15 a.m. Shreveport Police Officers responded to a shooting at a home in the 8500 block of Elmview Place. Upon arrival, officers found 31 year old Bessie Jordan suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and 34 year old Louis Grant, Jr. suffering from a grazing bullet wound to the abdomen. Both victims were taken to LSU Health Shreveport by the Shreveport Fire Department with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives say there was a large party going on at the house there on Elmview Place when some sort of dispute erupted. Just moments later a male suspect driving a gray or silver car, possibly a Dodge, drove by the home and fired multiple shots, striking the victims. The gunman sped away before officers arrived.
Investigators have interviewed numerous witnesses and are working at this hour to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for this shooting. Anyone with any information regarding this crime is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373
