Carthage firefighters were called out to the GenPac plant on East Cotton Street around 10:15am Friday. Firefighters say workers were using a cutting torch to dismantle a silo when the torch set some plastic in the silo on fire. They say the fire was quickly put out and the damage was contained to that area. There were no injuries. GenPac's Carthage location makes plastic cups.
