Eight Caddo Parish schools will remain closed Thursday because of the flooding situation that caused water problems in south-central Shreveport.

Those schools that will be closed are Atkins Elementary, Caddo Career Center, Caddo Middle Career & Technology, Forest Hill Elementary, Linwood Middle School, Ridgewood Middle School, Southern Hills Elementary and Woodlawn High School.

Floodwaters broke a water main on Mansfield Road overnight, causing outages in south-central Shreveport. The main has been repaired but a boil advisory remains in effect until water-quality tests are completed.

All Caddo schools closed early today because of the rain and flooding situation that affected much of the parish.
