D&D was cited for storing hazardous waste on the property without proper authority. The Environmental Protection Agency says D&D was storing about 380,000 pounds of carbon black on the site.

The material is used to reinforce rubber and plastic products.

The company had been storing the material in tanks that were not designed for it, causing volatile organic compounds to leak into the air. D&D leases the El Dorado property from a chemical company in Marietta, Ga.
