TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) -- A former Texarkana, Ark., school teacher has agreed to settle her lawsuit against the school district for $750,000.
The Texarkana Gazette reports that court documents obtained through a Freedom of Information request show that ex-teacher Andrea Johnson and the district reached the settlement during mediation.
Johnson had sued the district for racial discrimination and retaliation after she was fired in April 2009 for allegedly giving Arkansas High School students the answers to an end-of-semester math test. Johnson argued that other teachers who had access to the test were never suspected of providing the answers.
The newspaper reports that the settlement prohibits both sides from publicly commenting on the settlement agreement.
