The pain at the pump is easing. Triple-A reports the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas fell six-tenths of a cent to three dollars and ninety cents a gallon.
That's about twenty one cents below the record high of four dollars and eleven cents per gallon, set in July of 2008. That's good news for Jenny Christian who own "A Daisy A Day" flower shop in Shreveport. She says gas prices have affected her business, but not her customers. "My customers know what we charge for delivery and so I think they're just comfortable with that knowing that they don't have to pay an arm and leg to deliver an arrangement," Christian said.
Doctor David Hoaas, Professor of Economics at Centenary College says there's some good news, and bad.
"We really as economist don't expect to see a continued increase in gas prices in the near future, and we're not gonna see a big dip in gas prices," Hoaas said.
He said if we do see a dip it may be five to ten cents later in the summer. Many economist say much of the spike in prices was fueled by fears of a cutoff in supplies from Iran, but because of an increased supply from other nations, Iran has actually had to cut prices.
