Shreveport, LA (KTBS) -

A local teenager is recovering after being shot during what Shreveport Police officers are calling a dispute between family members.

Around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, Shreveport Police officers responded to a shooting in the 5200 block of Kent Avenue. On officers arrival at the scene, they were initially told that two people had been shot and a third was believed to be suffering minor injuries as a result of being grazed by bullet fragments. Following interviews with witnesses and the victims, investigators were told conflicting versions of what actually took place during shooting.

It was later discovered that despite earlier reported information, only one person, a 14 year old male had been shot. The male victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and released a short time later.

The other two people, who were not transported to the hospital, were believed to have sustained injury as a result of their being involved in an earlier fight with multiple participants.

At this stage of the investigation, authorities are working to piece together all the details and varying accounts of what transpired at the home. Anyone with information about this crime are urged to contact Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives at (318) 673-6955.
