CASS COUNTY -

A multi-vehicle crash, including two motorcycles, in Cass County has left one person dead and three others injured.
It happened Wednesday just after 2:30p.m. on Highway 8 near the Sulphur River Bridge.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Regina Connor stopped her 2001 Chevrolet Malibu to allow a wide load cargo vehicle driven by Michael Szanizslo to clear the bridge.
DPS says when this happened, a Harley Davidson operated by Jerry Barnes stopped behind Connor but a second Harley Davidson operated by Robert Beauchamp failed to stop, striking both the other motorcycle and the Chevrolet Malibu.
Authorities say the impact of the crash forced the passenger on Barnes motorcycle to come in contact with the wide load cargo vehicle.
The passenger, identified as Candi Barnes, was pronounced dead a short time after.
Her body was transported to a funeral home in Atlanta, Texas.
At last check, Jerry Barnes was in critical condition at a Longview, Texas hospital.
Robert Beauchamp and his passenger, Jacqueline Beauchamp, were transported to a Texarkana, Texas hospital and are said to be in stable condition.
