A man and woman from Plain Dealing cooled off in jail after a fight over a cell phone.

Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says Demarcus Darnez Washington, 22, and Pleaneashea S. Ray, 21, both of the 300 block of Lincoln Street, were booked at the Bossier Maximum Security Facility. They were charged with domestic abuse battery.

Sheriff Deen says the two were taken in Saturday after an argument over a cell phone turned into a scuffle. Deputies say Washington hit Ray twice in the head and pushed her down. Ray then grabbed Washington around his upper arms and scratched him with her nails.

Washington's bond was set at $5,000. Ray's bond was set at $1,500. Both bonded out Sunday.

Washington and Ray have a child together. No word on whether the child was in the house at the time of the argument.
