Police officers involved in the arrest of actor Josh Brolin and members of a film crew during a weekend disturbance at a downtown bar have described them as "remorseful" after they were taken from the bar and placed in a patrol car to go to jail.
Also arrested was actor Jeffrey Wright, who was in town with Brolin making the movie "W."
Police supervisors this morning were reviewing officers' handling of the incident. They were reviewing audio recordings from microphones worn by officers as well as videotapes from patrol car cameras.
Police said Brolin, Wright and five others were arrested just after 2 a.m. Saturday at the StrayCat bar on Travis Street downtown.
Police said the incident began after a "drunk and disorderly" patron, identified as film crew member Eric Felland, caused a disturbance at the bar.
Others at the bar -- including Brolin, Wright and other crew members -- interfered with an officer who tried to handle the situation, police said.
"One of the patrons was being unruly," Police Department spokesman Rod Demery said. "The management asked the officer to remove this person from the bar. As they did, he resisted."
Additional officers were called to the bar.
Brolin, 40, was booked on a misdemeanor charge of interfering with police and released hours later after posting bond.
Brolin and Wright, 43, were part of the crew in Shreveport filming an Oliver Stone film, "W," about President George W. Bush. The film has wrapped up production.
Felland, 29, was booked on charges of resisting an officer, public intoxication, and entering and remaining
Arrested along with Brolin and Wright were Evan Bates, 26; Cherilyn Young, 35; Amy Draughn, 33; and Ismael Martinez.
In the movie "W," Brolin plays President Bush and Wright plays former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
