The Bossier City Fire Department responded to a fire today at the Siesta Motel in the 2500 block of East Texas Street that caused heavy damage to a room where it appears the fire originated.
A witness across the street called 911 just after 12 noon upon seeing thick black smoke coming from the motel. The first fire crews arrived on the scene in just over one minute from receiving the call and were met by heavy flames and smoke coming from the room. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 10 minutes and kept it from spreading to adjoining rooms.
No one was reportedly staying in the room at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
