The fire was reported shortly before 4 a.m. at the Indian Summer Apartments.

Firefighters contained the blaze to one building. That building, which contained 16 apartments, was destroyed.

No one was injured in the fire. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Arson is not suspected, Natchitoches police spokesman Cary Hargrove said.
