The Centers for Disease Control weekly report says the flu is now widespread in every state but three: California, Hawaii and Mississippi.

Health officials say the worst may be over in several states where the flu was severe.The CDC also says the number of hard hit states dropped from 29 to 24.

The agency expects 135 million doses of flu vaccine to be produced this season. Most have already been distributed.

The flu vaccine is re-formulated each year, and officials say this year's version is a good match to the viruses going around,so, if you want to protect yourself--get vaccinated.
