What was once Hamels Amusement Park is now a set of neglected ruins. The property belongs to the Riverpark Church, and the church is tearing down several parts of the park to recycle bits in a new, modern worship center. Riverpark Senior Pastor Mark Briggs says the long-term plan is to transform it into a prayer and meditation garden. The church will use the log ride riverbed as a Koi pond, and they will put a wedding gazebo and carousel near the site.
