El Dorado, Ark. -

Hundreds of El Dorado, Arkansas seniors are going to college this fall thanks to the El Dorado Promise Scholarship.

It's a scholarship program former President Bill Clinton says he'd like to see in more communities.

Clinton was the keynote speaker for their 6th annual event.

More than 300 graduating seniors received El Dorado Promise Scholarships this year.

Ninety percent of last year's class went to college.

That's higher than the state and national average.

"I only wish every group of students in America had access to a company that would put up the money to do what Murphy Oil has done for you," said Clinton.

Murphy Oil Corporation pledged $50 million dollars to all El Dorado high school graduates. So far, 997 students have used $8.5 million dollars.
