A former patient suspected of robbing a drug-addiction treatment clinic in Shreveport was arrested today after police spotted him on a street corner.

Eric Krauel, 29, of Shreveport, was arrested without incident this afternoon at Line Avenue and Merrick Street.

Krauel is accused of stealing methadone from the Center for Behavioral Health in the 1300 block of Line Avenue three weeks ago. The clinic dispenses controlled doses of methadone as a treatment for heroin and prescription drug addictions.

Police said the clinic was robbed by a man wearing a red ski mask. Krauel was a former patient at the clinic, police said. Despite the mask, a patient in the clinic recognized him, police said.
