Rock legend, of Pink Floyd fame, Roger Waters has taken an interest in our local veterans. He's donated $300,000 to the Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana, which hopes to build a veterans' village Shreveport. It'll soon build four homes for local veterans in the Stoner Hill neighborhood and then later expand. Center director Lee Jeter says that can't happen without community support. He says volunteers are needed for the projects, and he urges the community to donate funds.

"And we want our community to show the people that are investing $300,000 into our community that we can match what they are doing and we care about our veterans, and we want our veterans to have decent housing to live in," Jeter said.

Jeter says construction will begin in March 2013. Those homes should be finished in mid June. The land for the build was donated by the City of Shreveport.
