With gas prices now well over $3 a gallon, Shreveport is seeing an increase in gas siphoning.

One company might have been hit a number of times, without anyone realizing it. Trace Chadwick has added a new accessory to his company's fleet of trucks: locking gas caps.

One of his employees ran into man siphoning gas out of one of the parked trucks. The thief ran away with a third of one truck's gas tank and emptied another.

Officers say these type of gas thefts are becoming more frequent. Most of the victims are businesses because they tend to have several vehicles usually parked alone at night.
