A local man is recovering from a gunshot wound following what detectives are describing as a domestic dispute turned violent.

At about 8:15 Friday morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 1700 block of Alma Street relative to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Kelvin Wright, 21, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper right arm. Wright was rushed to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what was described as a non-life-threatening injury.

Detectives responded and learned Wright and his girlfriend, who live together in a house there on Alma Street, were involved in an altercation when the woman allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired a single shot striking him in the arm.
