LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -

Arkansas is beefing up its efforts to attract filmmakers after investing more than $2 million in a movie that drew glowing reviews at an international film festival.

The Arkansas Film Commission and economic development groups in Little Rock and northwest Arkansas announced Tuesday they're partnering to create the Arkansas Production Alliance.

Officials say they hope to bolster Arkansas' film industry. The group will launch a website to help locations around the state market themselves to filmmakers.

The alliance's logo will be featured in the closing credits of Jeff Nichols' "Mud," which premiered last week at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, which was shot in east Arkansas, stars Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey and received more than $2 million in incentives through the governor's Quick Action Closing Fund.
