They have reached a compromise in the planned increase in health insurance premiums for city of Shreveport employees:

Employees were looking at their premiums going up 16.8 percent. It now will go up 5.1 percent, with the difference next year picked up by reserves in the city's health care fund.

Family coverage was looking at an increase of $66 per month. Their premium will now go up $20 per month.

The agreement came after a meeting of the health care trust fund board today.
