The American men and women stationed overseas may not be able to make it home for Christmas, but some local groups are trying to bring a little holiday spirit to them. There are a couple drop-off locations where you can leave nonperishables like instant soup, hot chocolate, even twinkies for the troops. They are also looking for small personal products like toe and fingernail clippers, and especially cards with words of encouragement. Send your warmest wishes to someone who's spending the holiday away from home, so you're free to stay at home. The group also needs monetary donations so they can afford to ship all the items to troops overseas.

Drop Off Spots:

Huntington Shopping Center

American Climatized Storage

6721 Pines Road

Shreveport

St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church

522 E. Flournoy Lucas Road

Shreveport

All items must be dropped off by 10:00am Saturday, December 2, 2007.
