Authorities have arrested and charged a local man with illegal use of a weapon following the outcome of an investigation.

On October 18, 2012, investigators with the Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit arrested a local man after their investigation linked him to a shooting that took place back on October 14th of this year. 

18-year-old Richard Bell, of the 4300 block of Hermosa Drive in Shreveport, was taken into custody for the October 14th incident in which he allegedly fired a handgun at another man while driving his car near Jefferson Paige Road at Interstate 220.  

Authorities say Bell pulled alongside another man's vehicle and fired at least once into the victims vehicle narrowly missing him. 

Bell reportedly sped away form the scene following the shooting.

Following his detainment by officers, Bell was transported to the Shreveport Police Department's Detective Bureau, during which time the investigation led to his arrest. 

Bell was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of Illegal use of a weapon from a moving vehicle.
