Highland Jazz and Blues Festival 2012

The 2012 Highland Jazz and Blues Festival will be held 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at Columbia Park, 700 Columbia St. in Shreveport’s historic Highland neighborhood. The free annual festival features two stages of non-stop live music, food vendors, and an Artist’s Alley. Big Bill Morganfield, an award-winning Chicago bluesman and son of the legendary Muddy Waters, will headline a roster of blues and jazz performers including Buddy Flett, Total Choice Jazz Band, A.J. & The Two Tone Blues Band, Jerry Beach Band, Winston Hall, The Hardrick Rivers Revue and more.

The festival also is known for attracting an eclectic mix of food vendors. Offerings include Cajun jambalaya, Caribbean jerk chicken, locally-roasted gourmet coffees, and more. Artist’s Alley will feature local artists and artisans selling items including hand-made jewelry and original works of art, jams and jellies, and home décor.

Now in its ninth year, the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival is supported by Pratt Industries, Brookshire’s, the City of Shreveport, The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and more.
